life is always surprising us

Well it has been an interesting time in my life. Our big plans we had to move to the Turks and Caicos flew out the window due to our contact there leaving the country. It broke John and I's hearts. We wanted to leave the world behind and go live a quiet island life, but sadly it doesn't seem to be possible right now. It's ok, it just means that it wasn't meant to be and something better will come along. We are just trying to figure out where we want to move now! Somewhere quiet, preferably with a deserted beach. Anyone have any recommendations? We were considering the Florida Keys and I would LOVE to go somewhere crazy like Bali or Figi or something...but that seems a bit too far away from our loved ones and reality. Hmm, guess we will have to see!

Oh, Happy New Years! I hope everyone had a great time ;) I had a couple of friends come into town from Rhode Island. We went to see our favorite DJ, Kaskade, at the new club here on South Beach, STORY. I'm not a club person at all anymore, but it was so much fun to just dance the night away with my boyfriend, sister and friends. It was open bar and we stayed up very late! We went fishing on a big boat the next day, which was a blast! Nothing like seeing Miami from the ocean ;)

What are your new years resolutions? Mine is to just live a healthier life. Not only eat better, but work out more, get more sleep, etc. I'm no young spring chicken anymore...haha! I used to take care of my body, then kind of slacked off. Well...back to it!

Check out my fun pictures from NYE and of Miami from the boat!

South Beach Sunset

It's a very interesting time in my life. I feel like I am constantly waiting for something to happen. After feeling like that for quite some time now, John and I have taken fate into our own hands and booked tickets to the Turks and Caicos. One of our best friends moved down there with his family earlier this year. They are thinking of opening up a restaurant. To me, that is paradise. A quiet island life with a boat, a boy, a business and our puppy. John could be the chef, me, the manager. Who knows! All I know is we will be traveling down there October 16-21 to see if we like the island and if is really what we want to do with our life. If all goes well, we might just make the move in early 2013.

Wouldn't that just be amazing!? Leaving Miami, leaving my life and starting a brand new one in paradise. Living the dream. That could be where this blog goes! The adventure of me starting over... Excited about the trip, John and I took the pup down to the beach yesterday and it was a perfect sunset. Check out some fab pictures of our excursion.

Sunburns and Smiles

A day at the beach is the perfect way to spend a weekend. Especially when it's with your loving boyfriend and wonderful friends. I live on South Beach in Miami. While the water is a gorgeous shade of turquoise, the sand can sometimes be a bit rough and covered with lots of seaweed. But aside from the noisy tourists and debris, the beaches of Miami truly are amazing. We love the snorkeling and the sunsets are always top-notch. Check out some of my pictures from our latest beach adventure. I'm seriously so lucky to live just a few short blocks from the ocean!
